I’m currently in Tokyo with the Mrs, and couldn’t resist taking this photo of the tallest tower in the world proudly adorning sky blue and white.

I thought the Maine Road floodlights were the tallest man made structure in the world, until their demolition

The Burj was in its first stage of construction when I visited in 2006, for those that don’t know it was my prize in a Charity Golf Event for a hole in one at Ashton under Lyne GC, think

Think it’s probably the tallest free standing tower without occupants. Just guessing.

They'll be building a replica down at Pallet Park - they just need the council to rubber stamp the funding for it

Well it used to be the case that the tallest structure was always some sort of radio mast, so that's why there was a separate category for buildings and other types of tower. But now the tallest building and tallest structure are the same thing.
