Tommy Docherty RIP

He was a guest speaker at a Gents charity night a few years ago and I had a good chat with, he was solid and definitely down to earth. What struck me though was his open disdain for the rags, I haven’t a clue why he disliked him but something has happened that pissed him off.

Always like The Doc considering he was The RAGS Manager. Played a good brand of football when he brought them back up with the likes of Coppell and Hill.
If anybody has not seen the documentary “Too good to go down”, give it a watch. Firstly it’s great to see The RAGS troubles in the early 70’s but it also shows how The Doc turned it around only to be sacked hours after winning the 1977 Cup Funal.

RIP Tommy

I remember feeling bad when some Blues were giving him grief on the train back from London after he had left the Rags.

A good innings.

Used to enjoy hearing his voice on Piccadilly being wound up by James H or give versa.
