Tommy Doyle | Signs for Wolves | will be confirmed Jul 1st

Another 90 minutes last night which resulted in a 1-0 win against Barnsley. Sounded like a scrappy game but two wins have opened a bit of a gap from the bottom 5.

If Tommy can help Cardiff finish the season in mid-table then the loan will have been a great success.

Barnsley were the better team and deserved to win but the quality is not good. Tommy simply defended an area of the pitch for most of the game and took the set pieces. He also showed his leadership skills when immediately standing between two players from opposing teams when there was a potential flair-up. Barnsley had most of the possession and Cardiff, in a game alien to Tommy really, simply kicked it long behind the opposition full-backs or, following a substitution, to a big strong centre-forward who showed great strength to score, against the run of play, on his debut.

Thanks for that info. It does not sound like Cardiff is the best place to hone "City style" football skills but I am sure Tommy will learn lots about being a first team regular, battling for results and other stuff that will be of value for his career.

After the comments about him from the Hamburg coach, showing he will graft for a team like Cardiff is going to be good for his image within the game.

How did Gomes play?

Had a quick look on a Cardiff message board and many were voting Tommy as MOM for the second game running.

So much better than the Hamburg soirée so far.
