This loan had disaster written all over it from the off,and that is how it has panned out.
The kid has talent that needs developing,get him back here asap and send him to a club that can utilise and appreciate him.

Doyle sat on the bench but Itakura scored the equalizer. Be interested to see where he ends up as he’s impressed me at Groningen and now at Schalke.

That's a bit unfair. He looked decent on his debut in the Carabao Cup and didn't do much wrong in the other games he's played.This is not just about playing, it is about maturation. He was a bit if a deer in the headlights in his cameos in the First Team.
Strange that he hasn't played more. I thought he'd get more playing time after scoring that goal in the last minute. They clearly didn't want or need him and have only been persuaded to sign him by his agent.

He wasn’t ready. That’s what I’m saying. The club clearly agreed or else he’d be in Manchester getting minutes.You could say he doesn't look elite level fair enough but you said he was a "deer in headlights" which just isn't the case.
Don’t get me wrong, I hope he grows into himself and the position, because Fernandinho is clearly done.
I hope Fernandinho can find a place at the club and even be an EDS mentor, because Doyle could learn so much from him AND training with the likes of Rodri in the First Team squad.

Zinchenko had a disastrous loan before coming back to City and on to the first team, of course, he had a lot of luck to get in at LB but Doyle is still a good prospect.
