Toni Kroos

Kroos is a very talented player but he's not got any heart, you can get away with that aboard but not here in the Premier League. Not all the time but on occasions in England you have to win the battle before you can play and we've got a few too many "soft" players already who give up and aren't prepared for a fight.

We are clearly the softies of the four teams left. We don't go into tackles with any 'venom' - just straightforward, coaching manual stuff, whereas the likes of Real, Bayern, and Madrid have players who know that the best way to thwart oppo players is to take out one of the players in an attacking move - somewhere on the halfway line, but always sufficiently down the scale so as not to attract a yellow card. Sometimes, due to the lottery involved in yellow cards, they don't get away with it, but it is something we don't do!

To be fair Kompany and Fernandinho do this frequently when the opposition are breaking.

He saw both the positive and negative aspect of Kroos last night.

Before the Silva sub/KDB being moved out wide he was being overrun but afterwards he, whilst not being at his best, had the space to dictate the tempo for Real

If I could pick someone from Madrid's line it would be Modric. What a fucking good little player he is.

Only trouble is Modric is 30 (31 in September). Kroos however turned 26 this January, so he is in the age frame for us. I would take Kroos in a heart beat. Agree he was not at his best yesterday.

I've always put that down to a bit of unintentional clumsiness!!

I'd say that's the case sometimes with Vinnie but you see at times (think he did it last night) he commits the foul, puts his head down and just runs back into position without complaint.

Fernandinho is the only one frequently willing to do this and 'buy us some time' towards the end of the match in the same way Bayern/ Barca etc do.

He is their best player. Wanted him when he was at Tothenham. Wanted him over Bale. Who was the rage here back then.

Supremely sublime footballer. As to Kroos, if I were given an option of taking any one of Real's 6 midfielders: Modric, Kroos, Casemiro, Isco, Kovacic, and James. Kroos would be my choice #6.

Modric, Isco, Kovacic, James, Casemiro, then Kroos. That will be my order of preference.

James, Kroos, Isco, Modric (purely on age), kovacic, casemiro for me.

Thought kroos ran the game. Swap modric for gundogan and casemiro for fernandinho and that could be us under pep (well, sometimes).
