Pep talked about Toni Kroos' situation in his press conference today:

Pep was asked about "punishment" for Toni Kroos.

Pep groans: "punishment?" Then says: "We have many important players and lots of games, when the whole squad is fit, everyone will play.."

And he says: "We have changed the system in the last two games a little bit."

"For this reason, it was just a tactical decision. Toni Kroos has helped me and the team a lot., And he will help us in the future."

"I always analyze my team and our opponents strengths and weaknesses Then I decide who will play,"

" This is not the first time in my career that a player criticized my decision, it is...... happened to me in Barcelona many times. It is normal that a player is upset when he does not play."

That is not a good sign for Toni at all. The short of it is that Guardiola bought Thiago to replace him. It was inevitable that Toni would drop deeper and deeper the older he got, eventually replacing Schweinsteiger.

A player of his level needs to be in the first 11. I know prior to being dropped he had played every game, but Schweinsteiger, Martinez, Gotze and Thiago had all been injured for large parts of the season.

United will offer him the most money and a guaranteed first team place, but they are a joke at present. Madrid or Barca would be the best moves for him.

Wouldn't mind him as a replacement for Yaya. We could use another AM and someone in midfield who is similar to Yaya in attacking threat. Kroos isn't very fast but has a great passing range, good crossing, and a rocket of a shot. Right up our alley but somehow I think he isn't very high on Txiki's list at present.

Very good player and I rate him but I don't see how he fits the kind of team that Txiki/Pellegrini is building.

Our midfield is trying to be built with power, pace, skill, energy (bar Yaya) and pressing hence why we are looking at Matiuidi and Fernando etc.

Probably a good replacement for Yaya. Not as physically dominant, and I'm not sure what his defensive work rate is like. But his delivery from set pieces is great, has a rocket of shot and impeccable passing. Can't see Bayern letting him go though, especially after a performance like tonight.

Could have him in a midfield 3, operating behind Yaya and Fernandinho. Or behind the striker. He's very versatile, and as he gets older, he could play a deeper, Pirlo-type role.

I am sure your sources have told you this and they may even come from United, but it's probably a lot of rubbish. A bit like they had an 'agreement' with Thiago or Fabregas 'wanted' to come. If he leaves it will probably be to Madrid or Barca. Maybe even Chelsea if Mourinho wants to go 4-3-3. The chances of United are very slim.
