The only solution is a high quality public transport system. We need to have far more capacity on it than we need “now” so it makes its use pleasant even when busy.
Only then will die hard car drivers be persuaded to move.
What do you mean? You only have to look around 1970's/80's housing estates to see the problem. Certainly in the 70's many houses didn't actually have a single car, and most only one car. Very few had more than one car, and the estates were designed accordingly. Now a lot of these kinds of estates are jam packed with cars due to the exponential increase in both quantity and size of vehicles.

Parking in Leeds has always been shite, but the roadworks there at the moment are a joke.Leeds is trying to make it nigh impossible to drive into the centre. A large block in the centre is now pedestrianised and thru routes go around the city. A raft of local stations now have expanded car parks and frequent trains. No idea about the busses.
I'd take the Mk1 any day of the week. 10" wheels with drum brakes all round. Lovely (apart from the colour). What do you mean?

I need to start coming over to Leeds. Was thinking of driving to a station. Are there any you can suggest?Leeds is trying to make it nigh impossible to drive into the centre.
