Toon fans best ever

Great to watch under KK !!

I was up there when we were both in the 2nd division .... we were going like the clappers for promotion with them , Chelsea and Newcastle ....... we got a right pasting 5-0 , the Gallowgate went crazy ........ but they had some formidable players in their side ..... and we , unfortunately , had some right duckeggs!

Newcastle fans are sound. There's a hardcore of 25,000 or so who live and breathe that club. The ground is right in the city and everybody knows when the toon are at home.
Their fans have always been great when they've come to us and i think it'd be a right shame if they went down. Appointing Shearer as manager is however one of the daftest decisions ever and it isn't looking good for them.

when they're doing well they turn up
Like when did they last do well ? . Trying to make ourselves look good at the expense of Newcastle is fools gold. If we were knocking in capacity crowds we may have a point on this thread, lets be honest were not exactly filling our own ground. In fact it looks sometimes as though some city fans are going to the match dressed as blue seats.

The thing is 'Bonol' ...... who would you have more faith in to stick around in larger numbers if things collapsed dramatically ..... us or them ?

That's where their arguement falls flat on its face ...... they would have it all to prove , because history would suggest that it's more likely to be us.

Whilst they still get 52,000 for the odd home game , some of their recent home gates have slipped to around the 47,000 mark ...... some of them are already thinking twice about it , and they haven't even (possibly) gone down yet!

I don't recall Someright Duckeggs ever playing for us, he played for Clitheroe actually.

I dont mind the Toon, yes their fans are deluded but I would much rather the Boro went down instead.
Newcastle have to play Boro at St James' in a couple of weeks - should be interesting.

There are 50,000 toon fans who will swear blind that they one of the 16,000 who went when they were shit.

As did Carlo Nash

So we got more fans than Newcastle but Newcastle constantly out average us, does not make sense. More worrying is the fact our crowds have dropped of faster than Newcastles since our arrival in the premiership.

2002-2003
Newcastle = 51.966 City = 46,834
2004-2005
Newcastle = 51,844 City = 45,192
2005-2006
Newcasle = 52,032 City = 42,856
2006-2007
Newcasle = 50,686 City = 39,997
2007-2008
Newcastle = 51,321 City = 42,126
2008-2009 current
Newcastle = 48,219 City = 42,933
