Toon fans best ever

So we got more fans than Newcastle but Newcastle constantly out average us, does not make sense. More worrying is the fact our crowds have dropped of faster than Newcastles since our arrival in the premiership.

2002-2003
Newcastle = 51.966 City = 46,834
2004-2005
Newcastle = 51,844 City = 45,192
2005-2006
Newcasle = 52,032 City = 42,856
2006-2007
Newcasle = 50,686 City = 39,997
2007-2008
Newcastle = 51,321 City = 42,126
2008-2009 current
Newcastle = 48,219 City = 42,933

It's a one horse town mate. The whole city and surrounding area support the Toon. Compare that to us with the evil empire across the road and God knows how many other football teams in Greater Manchester. With that catchment area and level of support, the Toon should be pulling 60+ each home match, not hovering around the 50-54 and below.

Newcastle population = 189,863 Manchester = 441,200

Newcastle-Gateshead Metropolitan area = 799,000 Greater Manchester = 2,547,700

Seems we outgun them in the population stakes.

You forgot Northumberland and the surrounding area. That's 800.000 probable Newcastle United fans. How many City fans in the 2.5mill Gtr Manchester population? 350.000-500.000? Think again Bonol.

Yes, but 90% of them are either too young, too old , unemployed, skint or in jail.

Lancashire, Yorkshire, Derbyshire and Cheshire have just four prem teams?? Unless ive misunderstood and you mean just in Greater Manchester, but in Lancashire/cheshire you have

City, Scum, Bolton, Blackburn, Wigan, Liverpool, and Everton - 7 teams

On about Greater Manchester of course, but this area of the world has more clubs per population than any other, plus healthy local cricket leagues and succesful rugby teams in both codes. When Lancashire give away 1000 pairs of free tickets twice already this season you know competition is tough.
