Prince, 43, fo' shame.

Prince should be in every top whatever musical list with the exception of female vocalist (and even that one I'm not so sure of sometimes).

Never saw him do death metal. Though he was a brilliant guitarist so anything was possible.

Bit surprised Cash is so low. Nice to see Prince on there. He was my last cut. Sam Cooke is another great shout. Dylan, Cohen and Waits takes care of the gravel merchants :).

I've now got 2 with the previously-maligned DLR and Lydon, whose unique caterwaul matched the Pistols' (and PiL's) music so well.

Apparently it was Cash's idea to have Billingsley arrange for brass accompaniment for I Walk the Line and the rest they say is history clearly a defining moment in musicality.

As flawed a character he was simply a musical intellect of the highest order and I thought long and hard about having to leave him out.

Fortunate to have much of his catalogue on vinyl.

2 good choices Fog just couldn't make my final cut . speaking of slightly raspy a singer underrated IMO although not the band with many critics during their reign who have since come to realise the error of their ways is John Fogerty.

Seen him live fortunately for me on his Pat Malone with some solid musicians and one of the best 10 concerts I have been to.

I think we should have a best concert of all time thread scored unless its already been done and dusted.

Won't make the cut in fact I doubt anyone voted for him at all and my uninformed guess as your dark gorse that everybody will say shit why didn't I say consider him albeit it won't be the voice the acclaimed critics the aliens from many universes ago and to come when they meet up again will singing along to that you refer to.
