Agreed as singers they pale into insignificance when compared to the likes of DLR for example and they would admit it themselves so I guess that makes them good judges of singing ability (LOL).

The list does make fascinating reading especially now we can see who didn't make it into the top 100, some big names and fantastic voices that I would definitely rate above many who did get it. James Brown at 194 is insane. I think it shows the field could have sustained a top 20 vote but then at that point we'd need to start paying Protein Junkie a salary in lieu of time and sanity!

Looking at the full list lots of fantastic singers didn't get a sniff at all, I thought of Roddy Frame and then Ricky Ross and Paul Buchanan sprang to mind to and so on..

Or get more people to vote in the first place which would provide an even wider view. Especially those who bump up their post count on never ending music videos.

"Unique" was a big driver to my choices; James Brown was certainly that on a wide variety of levels. "Entertaining" also was, and it's hard to think of many more entertaining than he, at least to me. His genre is the only reason I didn't rate him higher in that I like soul/funk but not as much as other genres. But let's face it -- if you've been a musical meme for six decades you deserve a place on the list higher than 194.
