Top 100 Favourite Male Vocalists Final plus # 1

I placed Elvis at number 8 and that's 8 in the bag now.

Bowie will definitely feature, probably be number 1. He is my number 3 but if he wins it it will be deserving of a singer who reinvented himself over 6 decades. He's left us many memorable songs in his legacy of current radio play throughout the world.

I had Elvis as my number 2

I have Bowie left too and Frank Sinatra, they both should be there.

The remaining two will be interesting to see though.

Bowie and Sinatra will surely both be there but I've just had a look through the list and cannot see Noel Gallagher or Shaun Ryder listed.

I'm going for -

4: Shaun Ryder
3: Noel Gallagher
2: Frank Sinatra
1: David Bowie

"Unique" was a big driver to my choices; James Brown was certainly that on a wide variety of levels. "Entertaining" also was, and it's hard to think of many more entertaining than he, at least to me. His genre is the only reason I didn't rate him higher in that I like soul/funk but not as much as other genres. But let's face it -- if you've been a musical meme for six decades you deserve a place on the list higher than 194.

He was definitely a great entertainer both on and off the stage. I know the backdrop to it wasn't funny, but that interview he did where he appears to be as high as a kite and just answers the questions by singing his own lyrics is genius.

Not sure, but Barry Gibb and Boy George aren't there either and me old man would've been upset if Graham Nash didn't get a vote!

Seems reasonable to me, but if some non entity like Marvin Gaye edges Shaun out I'm not going to be happy.

He was less amused when the Average White Band started pumping out big funk singles...slagged them off and renamed his outfit the Above Average Black Band. Proper boiled his piss if I may slip into the vernacular.
