Top 100 Favourite Male Vocalists Final plus # 1

Always been a big fan of Japan. They were very original and they had the best bass player I’ve ever heard in Mick Karn

Loved them from their early trashy days, right through to their masterpiece that is Tin Drum. Mick Karn (R.I.P.) played a huge part in their sound through his incredible fretless bass playing (and his sax playing too) .... my joint favourite bass player too (along with Tom Petersson and his 12 string 'wall of sound')

Only 3rd for Freddie? Wow. You can say what you want about Queen's music (and many on here do), but I don't think anyone can argue that he was a fantastic singer, and the ultimate showman. It'll be, er, interesting to see who comes in at 1 and 2.
Favourite though.
If were talking singing skill AND showman, comedian, dancer, Sammy Davis Junior would win it. Nobody was a greater one man entertainer imo.

The thing about Sinatra is if you listen to one of his standards and then you listen to another version, even if its by an absolutely brilliant singer, there's always something just 'missing' from the other version.

Sinatra was in theory a 'pop' singer but all the top jazz musicians of the time thought he was the best singer out there. His sense of rhythm and phrasing was almost supernatural and I'm not sure anyone's come close to it since.
