One of the things I've always liked about the Cowboy Junkies is they just seemed to do what what made them happy and felt true to them, with zero fucks given about what they might do to be more 'commercial'. Think they appeared on one of the big big talk shows and decided to play 'This Street, That Man, This Life' which is both beautiful and lyrically brilliant but is even darker than most murder ballads.

Love all of Alabama Song, the first three albums were all quite different but equally good. The fact that 10 albums later Blood is just as good just makes you wonder how on earth she isn't better known.

As you say hopefully she'll be back on these shores at some point.

They (the sisters) did an album together, and toured, in 2017. I wasn't as keen but it was still decent. What they have both individually achieved given their childhood backstory is a testament to them as people too.
