Looking at this logically, it's a while since Liverpool missed out. It was 2016 when they last finished out of the top 4 so they've had six consecutive years in the CL. And in those six years, they've usually done well, getting to the final three times and winning it once. They are dangerous CL contestants.

Over that same period, united are in it one year and out the next. And when they're in it, they've not really troubled the later stages. Financially, they can both survive a season out of the CL but it will probably hit Liverpool harder as they've had six uninterrupted years of good revenue from it. Klopp might go to somewhere where he's got CL football, which will hurt them more.

So I'd rather united get that last spot.

Logical and sensible post. I may share on Rawk and see if this convinces them you are a logical bloke. Sure it will.

People saying Liverpool because united are no threat, maybe that's true but they could be long term, we just don't know. Being a champions league side is only gonna help them.

As for Liverpool, it looks like they have peaked and are on the slide but at the same time it's extremely obvious where they need to strengthen, so if they do, they'll be back better than they have been this season. Can't stand the cunts but they've got a good manager and have ran us close in the last few years, which takes some doing. Certainly not to be underestimated.

I hope united miss out, just because their fans are talking about them being back and turned a corner under Tent Peg. So it would be funny to watch them where they belong in the europa league after thinking they were part of a title race months ago.

United finishing 4th or 5th is irrelevant as they’ll be getting Qatari money this summer and spending big either way.

If Liverpool miss out, they’re out for a decade with City, Newcastle and United having 3 of the 4 spaces tied up before the first ball has been kicked.

Dippers. They have a midfield to rebuild from scratch and will find it harder to attract players of the top quality.

Bellingham is nailed on remember ;) in all seriousness as others have said not being in chumps league will hurt Liverpool more than the rags. So when both s an available answer it’ll have to be Liverpool.
