Top ten albums of all time

I actually did a list of my top 100 favorite songs (with no repeated artists allowed) and "Hello, It's Me" was my choice from him. I have too much time on my hands (Styx pun unintended) apparently.
(Sigh) I really miss the amazingly tuneful, tightly constructed, lyrically relavent pop/rock songs of yore. They just don't write 'em like that anymore (Greg Kihn pun intended).

There's a distinct lack of female artists/vocalists in everybody's list. I think the Pretenders debut album is worthy of a top 40 shout if not top 10. Madonna's Immaculate Collection would also be in there if compilations are allowed.

Not everybodys. There are three in my list - Kristin Hersh (solo and Throwing Muses), Tanya Donnelly (Throwing Muses) and Kim Deal (Pixies).

Looking at the lists, they are male dominated but several females are referenced.

@FogBlueInSanFran why don't you start a thread on greatest songs since you've already got a list ready to go? We can take potshots at it. :-)

Because I've never started a thread and I don't want that to be my first.

I'd rather start an original one -- you know, something like how much Mangala sucks or whether Mancs call it a muffin or a barm . . . :)

The thread should be called "Your 10 favourite albums of all time" then.
I find it a weird idea that in a thread with this title anyone would do anything other than list their own favourite albums of all time. How and why would you approach a subject like this objectively? I don't really see how you could truly approach it objectively without just giving a list of the top 10 selling albums of all time because if you do anything else then surely you are being subjective to some extent or other anyway.
