Tories have lost the vote of the young generation.

Assets aren't going to disappear someone is going to own them after the older generation dies off. Labour are losing the working class vote that's the important part of the voting demographic, there's a need for a new party specifically designed for working class voters.

don't really see that mate - the working classes are still left leaning and vote Labour - I appreciate that in these troubled times it looks good to suggest the working classes votes are split between two parties however by staying behind their party and en-masse voting the Tory Government out. Something which yesterdays events only brought nearer.

I'm looking at the figures now mate and it states in different sources that more of the working class voted Tory (Loads skipped from ukip granted) and more of the middle class and degree level voters voted Labour. I couldn't have imagined that many people from working class backgrounds voting Tory like myself, to win an election Labour have to find a way to reach those voters.

or just wait for the Tories to completely fall apart - any day now - still strong and stable?

They aren't doing well are they :)
But that aside Labour have to strike whilst the iron is hot because the Tories have a few years to get it back on track, a day is a long time in politics as they say.

except I would say the Tory first team squad looks poorer than that of the rags and lacks even their depth........... Boris or JRM to name a couple would just pull what was left of the edifice down were they elevated to the top job.

I have no love for either of the big two political parties but only one of them let me down being working class mate. My last vote (First time I voted for them) was for the Tories purely for Brexit. Labours focus on students and the middle class alienated me it has to change in my opinion for them to get past the post. Corbyn didn't convince me that he was genuine about leaving the single market and he has to get rid of a few derelicts from his cabinet before I'd vote for him and Labour.
If I had the notion of not voting that would suit Labour because if staunch ex Labour voters from the working class didn't vote he'd have won the election probably by a landslide, it's ironic that the voters keeping Labour out of power are the working class.
That's not to say that the Tories haven't got a full compliment of clowns in their circus either.

When the younger part of the electorate get older they will protect their assets by voting conservative just as they always have done in the past.

You are probably right. Although I hope that enough of them will hope to make access to those rights more widespread. I have assets yet I want more people to have them even if that means I give up some.

In the end I will benefit by having a more educated, more compassionate set of people looking after me and making a better job of the world than the fuck you I'm OK brigade have done, as you say, so far.

Every generation people become a tiny bit more compassionate. The trajectory is up though and I for one hope it stays that way.

There has always been the assumption by the tories that the older you get the more conservative your views tend to go. The problem the tories are having is that the forty somethings like myself aren't all turning blue. The natural party of government as they like to call themselves is having a wee bit of a crisis in terms of voting support. There are a number of reasons for this but most go down to the fact that things are a bit different now. For example where as once you could look forward to owning your own house and having a decent enough pension to retire on those days are long gone. Much of this has to go down to trickle down economics that Maggie started and every successive government including Blair and Brown continued. Back in the day Maggie could flog off the council houses and the working class would come flocking to tories. Now that old chestnuts gone and the hard sell on capitalism is waring thin.

do those waiting on housing lists or wanting to buy s new house in the area agree with you?
Depends on why they can't buy. I don't believe waiting lists are particularly long either.

I'd like to own a Ferrari and can't because they are too expensive. That doesn't mean Ferrari are not building enough cars. Some things are simply expensive and require a certain level of income for you to be able to afford them.

House prices outside London have barely increased over their 2007 prices. If people can't afford these prices 10 years later, might the issue be that they aren't earning enough, not that the prices are too high?

Putting a roof over your head shouldn't be unaffordable.
