Tories have lost the vote of the young generation.

Nurses earn £22000 up to £28000. They can earn more in management roles but £31000 isnt the average nurses wage.

£23,000 for the first year, that isn't bad. As nurses go up the pay scale they accrue more wealth, the £31,000 is a conservative estimate because the top nursing pay can be up to £60,000. Can we talk about porters instead?

10% of the UK workforce is expected to be on no more than the minimum wage by 2020!

Thats the real issue and until its addressed, fuck all will change.
Its more an issue what the minimum wage is and whether its for full time jobs or just part time than just the 10%. What I would say is its only about 20 years ago there was no minimum wage and now it's accepted by just about everyone that we should have one and unlike other stuff that has been capped and frozen it has continued to increase, so thats a change and progress. Is it enough progress or quick enough , no, but it is progress.

Can you explain why Labours ethics changed from supporting the working class to calling them racists and uneducated idiots? Whilst at the same time supports the middle class? If you genuinely think that Labour support the poor then I am at a loss to what's to discuss.

I haven't mentioned Labour. W.C Fields said 'vote against, not for', and I think he was right. The overall point being, (which can't really be argued with, if you're sane) i think that we ought to have in our minds and polices those that are helpless or weak first.

And the utter stupidity of taking tax off people, deciding they don't earn enough to Live on and give them money back. Or actively promote companies giving low wages because the govt will top it up.

The students are up and are swarming.

Best time to post is before 4pm to avoid them :)

For me the tax threshold should be set at whatever 39 hours a week at minimum wage is. As you say would sace the government money taking it off people then giving it back n credits.

Spot on. Certainly with regards to the first sentence. I am not sure if the 2nd sentence happens much or at all, but it would be bonkers if it did.

I've said for years, we should take a load of people completely out of the tax system by raising the personal allowance and NI lower limits much, much higher. Like maybe £15,000 or more. Hard to understand why someone who is in receipt of benefits is paying tax at all. Bloody stupid pointless and wasteful administration effort if nothing else.

I'm looking at the figures now mate and it states in different sources that more of the working class voted Tory (Loads skipped from ukip granted) and more of the middle class and degree level voters voted Labour. I couldn't have imagined that many people from working class backgrounds voting Tory like myself, to win an election Labour have to find a way to reach those voters.
Look at the title of the thread. According to Ipsos Mori, among 18-34 year olds in social classes DE, Labour had a 4 to 1 lead, and 2-1 among 35-54s. All that's needed for a Labour landslide is for young people to turnout in the same numbers as the old.

And in terms of campaigning? Average age of Tory party members is 72 (and it's young members leaving not just older ones pegging it that's meant 50,000 fewer members in the last 4 years).
