Torres - potential laughing stock.

A thoughtful comment. Even though clubs are our rivals we should respect them. I think Torres is trying to be loyal and I applaud him for that. I do think however he has shown tempermental problems that would make me question whether we should try to sign him in summer. I expect him to go to Spain or even Italy.

where could he go though ? barca dont need/ wont buy him , he'd never go to real madrid, ac wouldnt need him with their forward line, to me it leaves inter or a return to athletico, which would only happen if they let aguero go the other way. in this country i think we'r the only team that would ever consider buying him. i think he's stuck at liverpool now
I am assuming he will leave Liverpool in the summer. He has spoken in the past how his career is being shortened by the incessant heavy tackling in the PL. I think he will idealy like to go to either: Barca, Inter, Juve, Milan or failing that back to Athletico Madrid. It is possible we may go after him to replace Tevez but personally I would question his mental strength.

There's only two clubs that Torres would realistically sign for Chelsea and us.

Chelsea have two starting forwards who are well into their 30's and have Kalou and Sturridge on the bench. I said in the summer that Torres would go to Chelsea then but he didn't. I don't think he'll leave Liverpool mid-season but I think he'll be a Chelsea player this summer. UNLESS, Tevez leaves City. If Tevez leaves us, and I'm certain we will get a huge offer either from Real Madrid's bank loans or Barca's Qatari sponsors, and it will leave the door open for Torres who will need to change his attitude and application to be successful with us!

I dont believe he's THAT loyal, just that he would've left the last 2 summers but was fed a load of shite and believed it.

Bad, bad error not to go last summer. Still it means we'll get him a lot cheaper this year!

I don't think he's loyal. I suspect he gave serious thought to moving up the canal in summer but decided to chance another season with Liverpool in the hope that last season was a blip and they'd be back in the mix again this season - as many on here reasoned too. He'll most likely live to regret that decision. I think the City ship has passed him by. Even if Tevez does go in the summer, which I expect him to, Torres is not a natural replacement for Tevez compared to someone like Aguero. Replacement for Drogba perhaps and if Tottenham make the Champions League again there's a possibility there.
