as much as i adore carlos i have to disagree. apart from david villa i think torres is the best there is. tevez isnt far down my list.

if torres gets the recovery time he needs then he'll get that form back. but at liverpool i question whether he'll get that time, they are thin on the ground for strikers.

anyway the fact that he is staying there doesnt bother me one bit as i never in a million years expected him to join.

id be more than happy with balotelli or dzeko.

I just firmly believe that Carlos gives you so much more than Torres in terms of all-round contribution.

He lacks Torres' pace and aerial ability.

But he has disproved in the last three seasons that he isn't a goalscorer.

Deadly from anywhere around and inside the 18-yard box, not to mention what everybody knows, his willingness to leave every drop on the pitch.

Half the price of Torres, similar ages, rarely gets injured, you can see why my opinion differs a little?

i wasnt looking at torres as a replacement for carlos, id have loved to see them up front together. it'd be a perfect partnership.

i think what we are lacking is an out and out striker because i dont believe tevez is one and because i am still not convinced by ade. if i could have anyone it'd be villa or torres with carlos playing just off them. like i say carlos is fantastic but as an out and out striker i think torres beats him.

anyway, its not happening so i move on.
