well i've never signed up for a spurs or any other teams forum, and neither would you had you lost today.

I only signed up today because I've seen so many hate-filled threads on BlueMoon relating to Spurs that I felt that someone had to speak up for my club.

As for signing up for other forums, I'm signed up to a Man U (redcafe), Liverpool (RAWK), Everton (ToffeeTalk), and Villa forum.

I like football. I like talking about football. I started signing up to football forums years ago. I've avoided BlueMoon because of the nastiness demonstrated towards Spurs. But then I had enough. I love my club as much as you love yours. Woudn't you want to defend yours?

But again we come down to the vital difference. I'm not attacking your club. When I'm on another club forum, I conduct myself with a lot of respect and ensure that I don't attack the club. And I would defy you to find a single comment that denigrates Man City.

My posts here have all been civilised - I haven't sworn, nor have I abused any other posters. All I've done is fight my club's corner. Can you say the same of every other poster.

If anyone were to suggest that because it's a Man City forum, you have rights I don't is ludicrous. If a Man City fan wants to criticise or analyse Spurs, by all means. That's their right, both on BlueMoon or off it. But abuse is something else.

DO you know what I've experienced in all the other forums? Mutual respect. Banter, of course. There's friendly digs and tongue-in-cheek comments.

On BlueMoon, it's nasty, it's vicious, it's angry. As if Spurs have committed some crime against Man City. So I registered to defend my club. Is that an unreasonable thing to do?

spend some time with spurs fans and you will realise why everyone hates them....these losers releases a DVD every time they beat us and celebrate like they won the league, they are the most annoying rivals you can have

With the greatest of respect, we're not lambasting a team we have no connection with simply because they're doing well.

Every fan can be described as arrogent by those standards. Or are you suggesting that no other football fans think that their club is going to do well? Or that they want their club to win the League or the FA Cup?

We're fifth in the League and have qualified for the Champions League knockout stages at our first attempt with a game in hand. Are we wrong to be pleased about that? Is celebrating success the sole province of Man City fans? Are you saying that if we win something, we should quietly go about our business and not engage in bragging rights?

At no point have I spoken about our respective successes. We have the right to a little arrogance. We are a club that has enjoyed success over the years. Since 1949, the longest Spurs have gone without winning a trophy is nine years. That means we are used to winning things and expect that of our club.

Even in the darkest days of the 90s (after '91), we still managed to win a League Cup. So where is the lack of success you claim? We've won two League titles, eight FA Cups, four League Cups, and three European cups. We were the first club to do the Double in the 20th century, the first British club to win a European trophy, the first British club to win two different European trophies. The only club to win the FIrst Division after winning the Second Division the year before.

This is not a comparison with Man City (let's see if anyone can avoid thinking that it is). What I'm saying is that we have had success. We've won at least one trophy every decade since the 40s. That's a club with a long history of success.

We may not have had as much success as Man U, but we're no failure.

I'm sorry, but I think your definition falls flat.

I'm not saying they're worse but certainly not better. Last season the team were, now I'd say we were level. Next season... Bye bye.


For Spurs fans, or fans of any other club, to come on here, cherry-pick negative posts and then feign being offended is pathetic, but unfortunately nothing new. I'm sure some City fans do the same thing on your sites but it's still pathetic. I'd actually have more respect for someone on a wind up but to write a diatribe on how classless we are is, well, classless.

A lot of us have a dislike of Spurs based on years of experience dealing with your teams, club and fans. We see you as a bogey team and no one likes a bogey team. It's not just because of 1981, it goes much deeper than that. But I'm not going to expand on it any further because I/we don't need to defend ourselves in "our front room".

I can completely expect that some Spurs fans can be arrogant but jesus so can you guys! saying stuff like "our place in the top 4 is guaranteed" "Spurs are a rich man's stoke" etc etc you're talking like you're already a "top 4" side that's a right you have to earn we dont even talk like a "top 4" side even though we've finished there. alot of talk like you've a God given right to finish in the top 4, you dont you've gotta work for it just like we did last year. you may well finish 4th and IF you do fair play to you you'll have deserved it. but the extent to which you disrespect oue club is not the same as Spurs fans views of City as a club which is generally that you're a good side and a major threat. are some of us arrogant, yes def! are some of you -yes!
