Tottenham are better than us.

Before I start I am telling you I am a spurs fan. Not here on the wind up, just simply for the debate about the football, afterall thats what forums are for right?

"Tottenham are better than us."
Debatable. But I'll take that. Yes, you's do have the better squad player by player however success isn't down to that, its down to the team.

This forum is not any different from any other supporters forums. You get some loonies talking nonsense and typing out trivel that makes no sense or has any foundation what so ever. And then you get the level headed ones. Just because there are some donkeys posting does not mean that the whole of that clubs followers are like that.

I have to say though, it is quite funny to see some of the posts here though. For instance the repeated suggestion that Spurs players are on drugs becuase we are getting results despite mediocre performances.

Another thing I was surprised at, was the sheer arrogance of some posters due to the richness of their club. I would have though they would have been quieter knowing they were struggling to keep above us despite this wealth that they proudly boast. I dunno but it did seem to make some posters be very touchy when spurs more attractive than city's footballing style was mentioned.

Yes, City are above us at the moment. Well done, I congratulate you on achieving something that clearly alot of you's are so worried about.Parnoid maybe? *looks over shoulder :-s

I am actualy shocked at the medias response to our peformances this season(just shows how accurate it is). Spurs havent really started. Performances so far have not been great (apart from the Champions Leagues ones). Struggled through many games, yes it is a tough league with no easy games, but spurs simply havent clicked this term yet. However, that is a sign of a good team they say, being able to pick up the points even with bad performances.

Yes, Spurs defence isnt great at the moment, not really helped by only having one defensive midfielder on the books. Palacios . And no, I wouldnt call Huddlestone a defensive midfielder, becuase you know, he specialises going forward. hmm maybe call Jenas one after he stops running around in cirlces? And then not to forget the millions of injuries we have had this season and big ones in the back line, doesnt really help to keep a solid defense.

Also some people seem to be of the opinion that Spurs is struggling fiancially. Na, not really. Does a club thats currnetly succesfull on the pitch, looking to increase the stadium size to support the number of fans that are looking to see the games, having little debt, a wage structure that doesnt endanger the club, and not throwing money everywhere, with a top class training and youth facileties being build sound like a club struggling?
Levy is a very astute business man. Just becuase he doenst have the billions that some Arabs may have does not mean he isnt doing a good job. He knows how to run this club as a sucessfull business while keeping its sucess on the pitch and not throwing away the clubs culture.

Sorry I is late and I couldnt be bothered reading the whole thread and reply to every post, but here was one that was on the page I opened up first.

Dodgy refereeing? really?
extended extra time? really? A goal scored in the first minute of extra time in a half in which a goal was scored I think 3 subs and 3 bigish injuries.
Media do no wrongs? Really? Sorry but if you're feeling hard done by by the media then I think we're in the same boat. We've been getting alot of attention recently. But thats nothing the same as being the medias golden child.
Yes, Peter Crouch does seem to attract the high balls much to our fustration. Trush me, we can't wait till we purchase that one missing forward so we can stop with the high balls. But even with him on. We don't actually lump ball forward unless the situation is nessesary.

They play better football but we have a better team and will finish above them.

Welcome to the board Adlai, the problem with joining a thread so late and only reading a little of it is that you're going over ground that's been discussed already, the drugs being a prime example. You seem reasonable from your first post but can I just warn you that there is nothing this forum abhors than the regurgitation of the tabloid mythology about our club. To repeat said mythology betrays ignorance and WUMmery. I would also advise you that to refer to our esteemed owners as "some Arabs" is very disrespectful, do not do it and you and your Chairman will have less chance of being referred to as "some Jew" or worse. Take heed or you won't be around to discuss football for long.

Spurs fan here. I rarely fraternize with opposing fans, just thought i would make an exception for this thread.

First off, Mr Manolo is a complete disgrace, he in no way represents the majority of the Spurs fanbase. Kind of hope he is a Arsenal fan in disguise.

The arrogant behaviour from both sets of supporters in this tread is just bewildering. If this thread represents the new generation of supporters then i would rather see Bolton finish 4th this season.

Bit OT. Is it really a sensible idea to sign 2-3 players in the winter window? The team is only just starting to gel, now you want to disrupt some promising combinations for a couple of expensive buys. Silva looks to be the pick of the summer signings so far, the rest still need time to adapt. Modric for example struggled in the epl for a good 18 months, Are ManCity fans willing to give all these recent arrivals the same amount of patience?

Hello mate, I can see where you're coming from and I for one only want one player if any come January. That would be a target man who actually does that role, which would allow Tevez, Silva and Milner to all link up better.

So i would presume a Dzeko, Benzema, Ibrahimovic type target man? If say one of these players do join would that mean Tevez would drop deeper, with Silva/Bal/Milner will play on the wings? Would that mean Johnson getting even less time on the pitch?

Game on lads. Honestly, I would love it if we battle for top 4 just like last year if not better because the truth is for the first time in a long while both clubs are doing big things and have got the others looking over their shoulders.

You guys have an incredibly strong and talented side, when you get it right, well then as Fulham found out you are very good. But as every forum/set of fans have, there are some incredibly arrogant comments in this thread, but thats to be expected as I know we have some really stupid and embarrassing Spurs fans too!

I personally consider you our main rivals and I look for your results first because I think you are our main rivals for that fourth spot.

yes lads another angry spurs fan on a blog

Spurs have a more established team than us. The nucleus of their squad has been in place since 2008 or earlier. That helps them to mantain a a consistent standard of play. We're more hit and miss. I think we are capable of playing a higher standard of football than them, as demonstrated by the Fulham performance, but we're still subject to days when the wheels fall off such as at Wolves.

I dont think any of the current top 5 can be overly confident of finishing in the top 4. A few weeks ago I'd have excepted Chelsea from that but now even they are no longer certainties. It would be a massive surprise if Chelsea or United finished 5th but its not beyond the realms of possibility.

And its certainly possible that Spurs could finish above City, but then City might finish above Arsenal.

Its going to be a tense season.

alright all - I appreciate that some are advising reading all 45 pages of this thread but quite frankly - I don't have time! The Top 4 this season is wide open, we may both be in there .........or neither of us. If your owners can resist sacking Mancini you'll probably make it.

But don't you think you'd have a much better chance if you tried to win games more often rather than seemingly playing for draws? I would say our biggest fualt is first halves where we dont turn up sufficiently so we end up 'the comeback kings'

I also think your first halves have been letting you down cuz you don't try and score in them. Most of the time.

I've approved this post, but suggest you take care, the tone of the post is fine if its on a Spurs forum, but on here its not. To suggest City don't try to win is ludicrous, and so far this season we've won the same number as you have, so perhaps you should have a word with your own manager, before lecturing us on our club.

WUMming won't be allowed by Spurs fans.
