Tottenham are better than us.

Wumming??? suit yourself but my point was that Mancini seems too cautious when it looks like you could be trouncing a team. NOT ALWAYS but often.....That is hardly the sort of comment that requires me to take care - its a reasoned opinion, one which I suspect some of your fans hold too?

Spurs somertimes (often) have lots of attacking play but take a long time to score.......or fail to. See discussing failings is not a crime, its constructive and conversational.

otherwise all our lot and all your lot would just be saying 'oh yeah - we really are brilliant aren't we?' and agreeing. Not much of a forum that is it?

alright all - I appreciate that some are advising reading all 45 pages of this thread but quite frankly - I don't have time! The Top 4 this season is wide open, we may both be in there .........or neither of us. If your owners can resist sacking Mancini you'll probably make it.

But don't you think you'd have a much better chance if you tried to win games more often rather than seemingly playing for draws? I would say our biggest fualt is first halves where we dont turn up sufficiently so we end up 'the comeback kings'

I also think your first halves have been letting you down cuz you don't try and score in them. Most of the time.

I've approved this post, but suggest you take care, the tone of the post is fine if its on a Spurs forum, but on here its not. To suggest City don't try to win is ludicrous, and so far this season we've won the same number as you have, so perhaps you should have a word with your own manager, before lecturing us on our club.

WUMming won't be allowed by Spurs fans.

Cleavers.

It might only be me but I see this Spurs fans post in a totally different form. It seems to me like he is saying he cant understand why we are not 2 or 3 nil up each time we play a Wolves or a Stoke by half time with the Players we hae at our disposal. He also looks like he believes the 3 Defensive midfielder stories. I really didn't see anything untoward at all.

You miss the point, this is a City forum, if you don't like the opinions (or reaction) on here then feel free to depart for a Spurs forum.

Why is it so many of your lot come on here ? Is it for debate, or just banter, if its the latter then its just pure wum and nothing else, if its debate you are after don't sound so 'rag' like ;o)

What the fuck is up with all the Spuds coming on here, have they not got their own forum? Whinging cunts. I normally just lurk here, but they've got me pissed off.

They've been the luckiest team in the Prem this season, bar none. Anyone can score more goals than their opponents and win if they're just going all out attack.

Football is about preventing the other team from scoring and then nicking a goal yourself. Do not concede at all costs. What's the use of playing fast wingers and creative attacking midfielders if you're just going to go a goal or two behind in every game and have to rely on team spirit to get come back and win?

All you hear from their twat fans is 'Champs League'. Pricks. They'll never win it.

We'd be in the CL if we didn't bottle it last season. It had nothing to do with them beating Arsenal and Chelsea at White Hart Lane and then coming to COMS and winning in the speace of 3 weeks when the pressure was on. We messed that up for ourselves.

We'll spend anothe £70 mill then see how they compare to us in January.

edit.

i was'nt goint to approve this piss take but i thought it was a cracking read, made me laugh.

full marks to the guy.

Why do people think Spuds are so much better than us - We have played the same games but we have played away more.

We have only scored 3 less than Spuds yet defensively are a lot better. The reason we have scored less is our home games Rags , Chelsea and Arsenal (10 men) ar tough games. Yes we have had a couple of bad results at home but so have Spuds.

We have only just got back what Bobby believes to be our number 2 striker in balo and i expect us to start being a lot more positive at home in the comiing games.

Personally i believe the top 4 will go right to the wire and wouldn't be surprised if one of the usual top 3 miss out - Jan could be crucial to all 5 teams

That Adlai the Rabbi guy was doing quite well until ''some Arabs''....d'oh.

On a general point, why should either club be just aiming to battle it out for fourth?

two points about that.

1) You shoot for the moon you land among the stars. You shoot for the stars themselves you might end up missing them. And landing in a black hole. Or something.

2) Aiming for one particular place is a very narrow margin to aim for.

Our philosophy should be we are playing for the title. Even if many of us don't think it's all that likely the team have to play as if that's our aim. We have to believe it's the aim.

Spurs are indeed a far superior side to ourselves unfortunately. They are proving that in the CL and indeed in the league (only recently mind). They are top 4 material comfertably and will go close in the CL.

They play better football but we have a better team and will finish above them.

If by better football you mean kick and run followed by hoofing it to crouch for VDV to score from 6 yards (happen 5 times this season), then yes you are correct.

If we are being honest it's probably Spurs. Look at the Arsenal result, could we win from being 2 down away to them? Would Mancini even try to win away at Arsenal? Under Mancini it does feel very negative at times, from what Spurs have done they are positive and attacking. Fair play to Rednap he only needed to draw here last season for 4th yet he went for it. Would we if it were the other way around?

I like the fact that we can move the ball around on the floor and then vary it by using Crouch. I think we are under no illusion that our strikers aren't the greatest, but we will do our best to play to our strengths.

The club itself prides itself on the style of football, we coined the term push and run football through Bill Nicholson's famous double winners and its a philosophy that has always remained close to the club's heart.

With the likes of Tevez, Silva and Johnson, you guys will play some silky stuff when it clicks. But even you must see the benefits of being able to vary your play every now and then. Arsenal sure they look good but time and time again against the likes of Chelsea and United they are simply over powered.

How do you guys honestly see the table ending up? Is it realistic to talk of a real title challenge this season? I mean of course at this stage any one can win it as Redknapp eluded to. He simply stated literally anyone can win it so why not Spurs or City. I guess for us the most realistic ambition we could harbour is emulating last seasons top 4 finish. That would be a terrific success.

I would assume that would be City's ambition also for the current season. of course there is no harm in going all the way for the title if it is of course possible.

that's my point mate - sometimes the cautious route is not enough. Sure we lose things by attacking too much so none of us is perfect!
