Tour De France 2013

I think the sport is pretty clean now. Look at how some of the top riders (Evans etc) have struggled this last week. Hopefully, the Armstrong affair is the end of that sorry era. I did think HE was clean at the time though - gutted! Armstrong was one of my heroes!

Didn't they say the same about Armstrong?

The sport and drug testing is totally different now to Armstrong's day when the whole field was juiced up.

Like in most things, the technology to hide the drugs is much more advanced than the technology to find the drugs simply because there's more money to be had.

So you have no evidence, just a hunch.

-- Wed Jul 10, 2013 12:07 pm --

i think more might come of Wiggo not being in the tour in the fullness of time.
You've got to admit - it's really unusual for the defending champion not to ride!

I dont think there is more to it. Brailsford and Froome both said they would have liked Wiggo there, in the TTT he would have been crucial and also he could have offered better support in the mountains. Not only that he would have taken some of the pressure from Froome as he would have got a large slice of media interest, thus Froome has less.

Hunch? I have no hunch because I simply do not care.

I also have no horse in this race, I don't care about cycling whatsoever or who may or may not be doping, it just happens that doping carries over to other sports and the same tests will be ran.

Then what the fuck are you doing on a Tour De France thread?
The clue is in the thread title.
If it was 'Tour De France 2013 For Those Who Don't Give A fuck About It Thread', then it would say so.

So you are commenting about what you know nothing about , must be one of those people Wiggo was talking about then, fair enough.

Cycling is ahead of other sports in doping, cyclists are tested more than any other sportsmen around. They were the first to bring in the bio passports and have to be available 365 days a year for testing. Failed tests arent covered up like they are in other sports.

Why come on this thread??

Curiosity and it's always entertaining in these threads because it always breaks out in to arguments about doping.

Haha, if you look I never actually accused anyone, you just got on your high horses. You're all so angry!

You're right. Froome probably would've liked him there - it's nothing to do with him. It was Brailsford's decision.
We'll have to agree to disagree on whether there's more to it! :)

Time will tell mate.

-- Wed Jul 10, 2013 12:17 pm --

Usually because bell ends who know nothing about the sport and don't care anyway start an argument.
This thread is about what is actually happening in the race.
If you want to start a thread about doping in a sport you don't care about then go ahead and knock yourself out, but I'd call it a bit weird.

Did I? I thought I was stating a fact that people didn't believe Armstrong was doping. If you want to put words in my mouth about what you think I was implying, that's on you.
