Looking at the finish times thus far Tony Martin has absolutely smashed the field.

Brought him in to my fantasy team last night ;-) Was hoping for more from Millar today though.

Concentrating on the Ashes today, the TT on highlights tonight, not much is missed in highlights of the TT compared to other stages, if that makes sense.

Yeah know exactly what you mean, it's only really seeing the split times for the four or five GC riders at the end that are of interest. I'm hopping between both the tour and the ashes.

Manchester to Blackpool on Sunday. Anyone doing it on this thread? Not doing it myself this year - 1st year I've missed in ages.
I'm doing it for the first time in 3 years. Got a bit fed up with the sheer numbers on this event , especially people who don't have a clue about road sense.

Did the new 55 mile longer option on Manchester -Liverpool , great ride in lovely S Lancs , as opposed to dodging angry anglers and dogshit / broken glass on Manch ship canal towpath on the original route.)

Off to the alps this summer again to have a crack at some more cols (managed the Alpe D'huez last summer , but won't mention the time as don't want all the sputters of laughter ... I got up the thing , dammit !!!)

Fair play mate, bet it felt great to get up there and have the view (if it was a clear day that is). I'd need oxygen, a sit down lunch somewhere and many other rests along the way!! I'd be great going the other way ;-)

They'll be no splutters of laughter from me Dom, big respect for that effort my friend.

Classic from Kirkby when describing last nights substantial meal he enjoyed:'it was cheap as chips...*pause*...obviously expensive chips'

Nice thats another topic for everyday, the place they stayed in the night before and what they did for dinner. Carlton does go for the local random cuisine most of the time.

Back to the sport, Cav had urine thrown at him during the stage, not 100% known if he was the target but he had been whistled at the start of the race. Very sad.

Jerome Pineau said his team-mate was whistled by spectators on the morning of Wednesday's race.
Pineau said: "Yesterday I was so proud about the support but today I am ashamed.
"Ashamed when my friend Mark Cavendish tells me he has been whistled and even sprayed with urine on the course. It's scandalous."

If true, thats disgraceful.

Wednesday is my hospital day, i caught the first ball of the test and then had to leave and got back for the end of the ITT and now got the cricket on :) Tonight will be ITV4 TDF highlights then SKY for the ashes highlights. Great nights viewing.

Tommorrow it will be TdF on the TV, Cricket on the lappy through Skygo. A plateful of butties and a crate of Stronbow.

Cant wait.

Widely reported mate, that quote is from the BBC website. Disgusting stuff, but it will only make him more likely to win tomorrow IMO

-- Wed Jul 10, 2013 5:18 pm --

Today has been easier, the ITT you can watch the highlights and not miss much due to their being no team tactics. Tomorrow will be harder, think i might have to to something similar re Tour on the telly and cricket on lappy.

That was my first thought. It will just motivate him more.

Anyway speaking with my mate earlier and we have made up a game which we are going to play on stage 20. Its a simple game. Everytime the TV pans to a Chateau Church etc we have a Jack Daniels :) I dont think we will see the finish lol
