Please stop putting links to the M.E.N. on Bluemoon.

Dont click on chaps.
Why???

Im not touching this one. I know a Clarkie when I see one.

I thought the site that supplied the link (in this case Bluemoon) was the party that got paid as opposed to the site to which you link to....? Is this not the case?

MEN would only get paid if you clicked a link on their site, they would then be paid by the site that you linked to. Ergo, doesn't Bluemoon receive payments from all the sites to which it refers, in which case click as often as you can... Or is that just adverts? I don't think anyone gets paid for "linking" do they?

But was it a red card offence? Stupid and unnecessary yes. No argument
If you go by the letter of the law, I would guess that kicking an opponent would be classed as violent conduct and therefore a red card. However, a lot would depend on the ref on that given day. If he saw it, would he have sent off Toure? Or would he, with one eye on the clock (not long left), have warned him to cut it out?
Not a violent foul. There are kicks delivered with power to hurt someone, and flicks which are more on an insult than anything else.

There has to be some common sense when interpreting the laws of the game.
If they do re-ref that incident then going bybthe letter of the law if they give yaya a red, van wolfwinkle should get a red also for the elbow which prompted the reaction. He led with his elbow.

As I understand it the FA do not review all incidents that might have led to a red card had the ref noticed it. They only review the most serious of incidents that go unnoticed by the referee i.e. serious violent conduct such as headbutting, potential leg breakers etc. No way does the YaYa incident fall into this category. If they do review this incident and issue a ban then they will be faced with having to re referee every game from now on.

Pundits on MOTD2 Extra have just said the same.

Fingers crossed!

MOTD2 generally took a sensible view on this, with the exception of sun jouno Shaun Cuntis who said it was the same as beckham for England and inferred it should be condemned in the same way.

Seeing it at the time it looked like the Norwich player was out of order to begin with when he brought his leg up way higher than needed at the start of the challenge with Toure

Re: Toure kick out - ban?

The legend that is Graham Poll reckons that Yaya shouldn't be done for the kick, but that the FA are unpredictable.

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2555175/GRAHAM-POLL-Yaya-Toure-not-cited-non-violent-kick-FA-unpredictable.html?ITO=socialnet-twitter-mail_gpoll&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=socialnet-twitter-mail_gpoll" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/footba ... mail_gpoll</a>

Yes yes yes; I know it's a Daily Mail link, but relevant to this thread nonetheless.

Re: Toure kick out - ban?

So, by when do the FA have to give out a ban if they do? someone mentioned action within 24 hours of the game?
