Tourists

The same people who complain about this wouldn't think twice about going to see Barca or Madrid play while in Spain, or to watch some basketball at Madison Square Garden while in New York. That's what you do when you go to places like that so you should see it as a compliment that people now equate a trip to England/Manchester with dropping in to watch City play at the Etihad.

If the regulars snapped up all the tickets, there'd be none left for the tourists, so I really don't see why anyone would have a problem with them taking up unused seats.
^^ This ^^
The hypocrisy in this thread takes the piss.
What the fuck has happened to us as fans ?
Anyone who wants to come and watch us and pay for the privelage in my eyes are more than welcome. Like I said earlier in the thread there were 12 Japanese sat right in front of me in the South Stand, they must have spent a fortune in the club shop as they were all decked out in colours.
Do I feel threatened that they may take my seat ? Absolutely not because as long as I keep my Seasoncard on and join the Cup Schemes the seat is mine.
Another little point I would like to share for those that are not embracing these "Tourist's" is that we need their FOREIGN money just as we needed ADUGs FOREIGN money when they rescued us from certain oblivion.
Any non Mancunian that wants to watch the Blues and spread the word is more than welcome for the majority of fans.

Im born and bred in Lincolnshire, no relations in or around Manchester yet ive supported City all my life. I manage to get to a game maybe once or twice a season, fill my boots in the club shop snap away with my camera etc etc
I hope on one of my pilgrimages to a match im not going to get branded as a "tourist" :S

Hmm... What's your ethnicity? I'm not sure we want your sort here!

well as im from Lincolnshire ive got 6 fingers so you dont have to worry about me waving one of them stupid big hand things!! ( I cant get my hand in em!!)

oh and im white, well off white from all the muck in the fields :P

I was moved from the 3rd Tier to 210 last night......
There was a guy sat in M who drove me mad!!!

When Nasri went down in the first half "oh my god - hes pulled his hamstring, thats it for the season now..... thats the title run over"
Then when Richards went down in the 2nd half "Oh jesus thats a broken leg for sure - hes defo broke something"!

JESUS HOLY CHRIST MAN - PUT A SOCK IN IT!!!!!!!!

He also must have told everybody in the block that Porto were the holders about 7000 times.....

Perhaps you could just order stuff off the website... Or go support Stoke?

;-)

Just to be clear, I don't have a discernible Mancunian accent, but I was born in Manchester.

Should I bring my birth certificate and some of my match programmes from the 1970's to games in future so as not to cause offence?

I'm in the same boat mate, so I have had a shirt printed with "Born in Manchester 1970" printed on the back just to avoid confusion.
I wouldn't want people thinking I'm a tourist after all!!

I'm afraid I'm going to need to see a copy of your birth certificate ;-)

Yes! Although an away programme from York would be preferable.

I bet they're worth a few quid!
Probably not worth anything as its not that rare - we all know that City had 40,000 in the away end that night :)

That's even more than the 39,000 who watched us v Swindon in 1965 ;-)
