The same people who complain about this wouldn't think twice about going to see Barca or Madrid play while in Spain, or to watch some basketball at Madison Square Garden while in New York. That's what you do when you go to places like that so you should see it as a compliment that people now equate a trip to England/Manchester with dropping in to watch City play at the Etihad.

If the regulars snapped up all the tickets, there'd be none left for the tourists, so I really don't see why anyone would have a problem with them taking up unused seats.

Now don't start using reason and logic, as that'll just confuse the knuckle draggers... Plus these people don't visit foreign lands unless City are playing there. They'd consider going to see Barca et al as being in some way disloyal to MCFC. Sad but true.

Should I bring my birth certificate and some of my match programmes from the 1970's to games in future so as not to cause offence?

Im born and bred in Lincolnshire, no relations in or around Manchester yet ive supported City all my life. I manage to get to a game maybe once or twice a season, fill my boots in the club shop snap away with my camera etc etc
I hope on one of my pilgrimages to a match im not going to get branded as a "tourist" :S

I'm in the same boat mate, so I have had a shirt printed with "Born in Manchester 1970" printed on the back just to avoid confusion.
I wouldn't want people thinking I'm a tourist after all!!

Yes! Although an away programme from York would be preferable.

Out in force in 122 with there cameras and moonchester love ins

There were a family of 12 Japanese sat directly in front of me in 218 which was a shock as South Stand is normally very tight with Seasoncard Holders even for Cup games.
Before anyone questions whether they were Japanese, the 3 year old little girl was playing virtual Tomb Raider on her Holographic iPhone 6 for the full 90 minutes.
