There used to be a huge Steel works there, they made tubes. Loads of sweats but I actually like the place in a weird way, worked there for several years and met some great peopleDidn't a load of Jocks move down there to work in the steel industry? I think the majority of us a working class lads and lasses. I don't like describing anywhere as a shithole. Most of what you mean are poor areas by wealth alone. Some of the best people in the world tend to come from such backgrounds. They just haven't had the head start that wealth affords those fortunate by birth. Middlesbrough probably breeds the toughest lads in England, along with Carlisle. The scousers got decimated by Thatcher but you can't go anywhere without seeing the adventurous spirit they possess like the Irish. Don't knock these areas, we are all the same, just trying to make our way in the world. As Mancunians I think we are fortunate that we have had a wealth of talent musically and so sometimes can look down on those who don't really deserve it.

Sounds lovely.Bridlington was grim. Got there, parked up, got into a fight, saw some drug deals, returned to car, left. Worst 30 mins of my life.
Would you go again ? :)
