Sounds like Stalybridge :)It's run down and lots of crappy old industrial units, many that are unoccupied or even derelict.
Just an eyesore between the hills.
Before the 1974 invasion Limassol was a port not a resort but it was developed into a resort but is still a port. The sea is like oxtail soup in the area of the town but it's now expanded over a very wide area. Last time I was there it had expanded in one direction almost to an industrial site (cement works IIRC). It's also a favoured place for Russians to have big houses in the area which is always a red flag. There are a lot better places in Cyprus but if you've got a friend there you want to visit I wouldn't say don't go. If you have wheels you can always visit other places with better beaches and sea quality. The wine festival is in September (or at least it was). Shit wine but a good atmosphere and a bit of a laugh. We have a family friend in Limassol who keeps asking us to come over. Is it proper shite mate? I don't usually mind Cyprus but not been here. Thanks
Did the exact same trip, loved both places, San Sebastián is a really cool city beaches and food are superb, Guggenheim in Bilbao top class too.Been to San Sebastian and Bilbao. Both are brilliant. The food is amazing in both cities. Catch the bus/coach from Bilbao to San Sebastian, takes about an hour. The scenery and countryside on route is beautiful, green and lush. The numerous Pintxo bars in Bilbao are a must do. The beaches in San Sebastion are superb. So are the fish restaurants.
