I'd sooner walk round Bury with a nail in my shoe than visit that shithole

Can't stand the place.
What a remarkable coincidance that just as the Trafford Centre building was started, Manchester city centre (which would have been ruined by the new centre) was blown to bits / demolished by a bomb!
Quite convenient that.
Ever wondered why that van with the bomb in it was allowed to stay parked on double yellows outside M&S all morning???!!!!

Makes you think....

Think I know where your coming from.
The IRA secretly own the Trafford Centre under the disguise of Peel Holdings. Who also happen to own Barton Stadium. Home of the Salford City Reds. Who next season are changing their name to Salford Red Devils. Also the nickname of MUFC.

All makes sense now.

Them red bastards blew up the Arndale.

I don't think even Buzzer would buy that one.

The place is a hell hole. Every time I've been (not been for a long time), I've wanted to leave within fifteen minutes.

Much prefer town. Loads more shops for men in town, loads more decent shops like Ran and Oi Polloi (in fact don't think there's own like this at all at the TC), its nice being outside in town, there's a City Store in town, there's loads of good bars and places to eat in town...

The only two places that do stuff like Ran and Oi Polloi are Aspecto and Tessuti. That said the staff in Aspecto are useless and Tessuti just attracts the scroats. I tend to avoid the place if I can, I'd much rather shop in town.

Went today, 1st time since about May (for food at Tampopo), which was probably the 1st time since going for eye test during lockdown (very odd walking through with no other shops open), and before that a few more years.

Anyway, due to illness, then covid, then life, I’ve not been clothes shopping, at all, for about 7+ years, so Mrs JASR booked me in for a personal shopper at John Lewis (no commission), 2 hours of blissful clothes shopping. Highly recommended. Massive private changing room, no ‘5 items maximum’, someone to go and find clothes and bring them to you, and ditto for when you need a slight change of size, or ‘more like that’. Amazing.

Experience was slightly ruined, as we went for food, and my eyeballs popped out as we walked past the hideously decorated and coloured ‘Archie’s’ - I’d get a headache if I had a meal in there:
