Train Fares Going Up Again

They are forever improving trains, they are a joy to use nowadays.
Agree mate. I have been on 3 or 4 of them in the last half dozen years and other than a few strange looking people with weird hats and piercings, I had a thoroughly pleasant time.

They also seem to be devoid of the token drunk Scotsman these days.

That's because the last time he used the train, someone kicked him in the bollocks when he got off.

Even the one to QPR that stopped at Rugby?
I suppose if you've had enough booze and beak, you don't mind a bit of a delay . . .

Ever been on a Polish train?

9 hours from Krakow to Poznan on a fucking horse and cart type train. It'd take 2 hours here at most. I do agree though, there's paying premium for faster trains and better service and then there's our prices and average service. Shocking.

Still cheaper than driving. London to Manchester return for about £25 when you book in advance and takes 2h05m. Car Journey takes 3hrs give or take and cost me £60 return in fuel then i have the hassle of the M1/6

I am quite envious of your trains. In America, unless you're in a big city, money is not invested into trains, and if the Republicans get their way, cuts will be quite deep to Amtrak. I use Amtrak occasionally, but if high speed rail would ever get sorted, I would use it much more frequently.

Have you ever been to an away game and not mentioned it on here?

Aiye, sometimes it's preferable.
