I take it they will now sign that dutch keeper whatever his name was there were linked with :-) That sale has just cost them at least a dozen points

Sounds like a lot of money then. Can see him struggling with that fee at just 19yrs old.

Sterling is only 20 and a much bigger fee.

Living in the U.S., I haven't had the privilege of following the Premier League or any other major European league for too long. The high dollar transfers going on this summer are a direct result of the T.V. money coming in. We've watched the very same thing happen in free agency with the major sports leagues in the U.S.

Once that contract is signed, every player's value is inflated. It's pretty ridiculous, but smaller clubs will continue to fleece the top clubs in the Premier League. And it'll likely only get worse.

That said, what City paid out this summer is starting to look like good business.

That depends on which rumor you believe. I tend to believe that United spent 80 mil euros which is more than Sterling...

Sterling already has good Prem experience and a good few full England caps so puts him well ahead in my book.
