Well if he was defending properly then he wouldn't have got any shit. The key thing here is though that he wasn't particularly getting a great deal of shit IIRC, just groans of frustration as he was stood watching the opposition run at and past him repeatedly. If it was dogs abuse then yea maybe, but it wasn't (and I didn't give him any shit at all btw)

Bit of a weak argument mate, all of us touchline managers haven't really got a clue what he/the team's been told to do and even then it doesn't excuse fans giving him shit.

I'm pretty sure i remember hearing it, and i can never hear the South stand usually ;)

As a general rule, i'm more than happy to see footballers give a bit of shit back, regardless. It's a bit more entertaining than the forced pre game handshake and the like.
