Good to see City’s greatest ever striker get a mention!
You missed a good boozeYes it was, I remember it mainly because I couldn't get time off work to travel down and consoled myself that I hadn't missed much.
You’ve contributed more to City than the other GD did, not much maybe, but moreGood to see City’s greatest ever striker get a mention!
Do you really want to get into a debate about the net effect on the club of our respective namesakes?!You’ve contributed more to City than the other GD did, not much maybe, but more
Tbf gdm I have never made any positive claim about swales, so as bad as Gordon Davies was I don’t think anyone has had a more negative impact on City in my lifetime than PS.Do you really want to get into a debate about the net effect on the club of our respective namesakes?!
GD is actually the cover pic on the match day programme for Trevor Christies home debut..ive recently been going thru old programmes and found it..23/8/86 City v WimbledonGood to see City’s greatest ever striker get a mention!

To be on the front page at the start of a season is no mean feat!
According to the match programme we,d just beaten Barcelona (on pens) in the much respected Colombina Tournament 8 days earlier....before then drawing 2-2 with Huelva ,with yours truly poaching both goals in the last pre season fixture...hence front page of the match day programme.
This was my first ever home game at Maine Road...The youth team had just won the youth cup,Paul Moulden was proudly in the guiness book of records for scoring 289 goals in one season as a school-boy and was of course part of that youth team..and Peter Swales announced in the programme " City fans deserve the best"..
Before going on to say "it would be pointless to go overboard about our chances this season,..but i am optimistic "
A few weeks later our manager resigned and went to Aston Villa.
Typical City.
GDM would class that as pornGD is actually the cover pic on the match day programme
.
Misplaced optimism from PJS as we were relegated in May.GD is actually the cover pic on the match day programme for Trevor Christies home debut..ive recently been going thru old programmes and found it..23/8/86 City v Wimbledon
