Trophy Parade | Sunday 26th May, 19:30

Dear me. This is probably the most miserable thread I've ever seen on here, and you've got some pretty stiff competition from Morrissey fans!

Whatever City do we get criticised for it, so we may as well have nad it. Had we not had a parade we would have been slated for being arrogant. I just wouldn't have expected criticism from our own fans for having a parade! Has it really come to this?

Many of us had never seen a parade until 2011 so I enjoy every one as if it's the last. The kids and people who can't get to matches for whatever reason want to see players like Haaland, Foden and de Bruyne. Who would deny them that?

With a Bank Holiday to look forward to the pubs in town were rocking on Sunday night. You missed out but you weren't missed.
The thing about parades is a bit similar to issues with trips to Wembley. We’ve all got less enthusiastic cause they happen every year.

Reality is we should make the most of them cause once Pep fucks off they will a lot rarer and probably appreciated a lot more.

I thought it was terrible going ahead with it as I thought the turnout would be terrible and thought the players wouldn’t want to be there.

However the numbers there was brilliant and the players loved it. In hindsight I think it was really important for players and fans to shake off the disappointment of Saturday.

As for Sam Lee - where was he when the 2 x trusted journos were fed the info about Pep leaving. He relies on Ornstein and Pol Ballus for his info on City.

Sam Lee! I haven't seen any of his nonsense in ages. I remember his cringeworthy reporting of the Sterling/Gomez England fallout a few years ago and what 'may' have happened. Bloke doesn't have a clue, stopped reading any of his stuff after that.

I’m not sure there’s any evidence that enthusiasm is decreasing for a good parade.

I take any estimate at numbers for these things with a huge pinch of salt. Because those doing the estimates virtually always have ulterior motives one way or the other.

But I’d say there’s little doubt that last years was the biggest turn out for any of them.

And despite a few mitigating factors that probably reduced Sunday’s turn out, it was still probably on a par with any of the others. Except maybe the first one, if you include those in the ground.

Not a commentary on the event itself, the turnout or anything like that, I just feel that the concept of the street parade itself doesn't work anymore.

I'd much prefer the club to hold the parade event inside the stadium in future. They can plan it better, don't have to worry about much policing, the noise when the players and the trophies are presented, then they can do a final lap of honour around the stadium to be closer to the fans.

Yes, yes, I know, i'm going, i'm going...

No way.

Most of us go to the Etihad 20 / 30 times a Season.

I love the chance to get into Town eat, drink and be part of the Parade.

Stood on the street you are literally yards from the passing buses.

No where near as many would turn up at the ground, terrible idea.

said it loads of times on here - Sam Lee doesn’t write for blues. He writes stories about City for the Athletics readership of fans of red teams.

You only have to look at the comments on his pieces - not a City supporter in sight.

This is exactly what the parade is about a chance for Manchester to celebrate our success in the heart of “Our City”
It’s not about buying a ticket then waiting for a bloody tram or having to pay £25 to park your car then sit in the sanitised surroundings of a stadium
It’s a chance for a family day out and allows those who for whatever reason don’t attend to come out onto the streets and show their aporeciation

The manager owns a nice restaurant. Why couldn’t they have just gone there - some good food, nice wine and celebrate like a bunch of adults not like a load of students on New Year’s Eve.
I don't know who's leading all this getting smashed every time we win something but to me it's getting in the way. Also you are liable for a bust up with colleagues - we've all seen it at works do's - HR often involved etc. . Just a bad mix alcohol and work - save it for when your on your hols

Agree 100% with a parade - I also think it would have been miles better celebrating a double. Why didn't the players really think about that and put a lid on any celebrations till the parade - would have had a much better chance of celebrating the double and having an unbelievable double / double parade. City fucked it post league win in my opinion - gutted. May not have won the cup final but would have given a better representation of what Guardiola has been working on for 9 years.
