Trouble in the East Stand??

Was in row V and it's just getting worse every game really. I get to the stadium and wonder how long before these idiots start shouting at us to sit down. It hasn't worked for the other games you've tried it, it won't work now, and it won't work in the future unless something drastic changes! But, I have sent an e-mail to City Promise, Danny Wilson and the Health and Safety department of showsec about today's events and see if I get a reply! I will continue to e-mail them after every game if they carry this on.

I'm gonna be a **** here and play Devil's advocate: The law of the land is to sit down to watch football. Also to not smoke in stadiums. When someone has a go at you for breaking these laws then don't start gobbing off that you're in the right and they're in the wrong. What's the problem?

It would be interesting if city ordered a mass sit down in all the talked about areas...i wonder how many people would be left standing....i was talking to a superviser steward at the last home game & he was telling me a major crackdown is going to start, so so many fans from elsewhere in the stadium flocking to the standing areas and its becoming dangerous!

Smoking in the bogs and you deserve to be chucked out stand up and u don't end of, it's football Were paying good money for, for god sake not happy clappy tiddlywinks! Is khaldoon etc "breaking the law" when they stand to cheer? No, one rule for one one rule for all

They tried kicking an old man out the ground heavy handedly when he wasnt doing much wrong, thats why the fans blocked the stairway. Then one of the coppers pushed a girl to the floor and a steward then hit her dad, who got arrested for nothing. The police are meant to control these situations, not join in.

what would you advise mr fletcher to do about the situation unless you think his startergy is working at this time

serious question by the way

There's way too much i don't know to be able give any kind of reasoned response.

What's the council's view?
What's the FA/PL view - since they must be aware of 'persistent standing' at every PL ground every week?
What's CIty;s aim in different parts of the ground? (not a question i'd be a fan of, but with Lvl 2 getting kitted out, Family stand etc the club are trying to segment parts of the ground for different 'types' of fans)

Personally i'd allow standing at football - but that's because i do it every week and i'm probably being a bit selfish. Perhaps say, for our ground, Lvl 1 can stand during play, Lvl2 and 3 can't?

You guessed wrong, mistaken identity but Fletcher thought I was some criminal until I proved my innocence, he is a complete and utter tool, Adolf Hitler springs to mind BUT the GOOD news I have heard he is on his way out, being replaced!

And you've obviously taken it personally, you've just compared the Head of Security at a Football Club to Hitler. He must have been going off information he had been provided with, which is all he or any decent manager at any level can do.

I ain't having a go pal or getting at u, but maybe people in 109 want to sit in 111 but can't get a season ticket there, once 109 sit 110 will be next an then 111 pal u watch IMO 109 should be able to stand just like The 3 blocks In South stand can 116-119 I think? Standing should be 109-111 and this is why the atmosphere from Maine road ain't at the new stadium

I know youre not mate, the problem is that people in SS and 110/111 moved to a part of the ground where they knew standing would be accepted, 109 was never part of that agreement, and whilst there's one person in 109 which wants to sit, then the rules should be enforced imo. They bought their ticket expecting to be able to sit to watch their club.

Can't see that being true for 109 as I hardly see any doubling up in front of me, or behind when walking up and down at the start/half time.

110-111 - Maybe, which is why I thought the ticket checks were brought in on the 110-111 doorways?

It's not against the law to stand. Don't try and say it is again because you will look like a tit as it has been mentioned a dozen times in this thread.

It is illegal to smoke in the ground but this is noticed and yet still allowed in the toilets around the 109 area.
