I'm gonna be a **** here and play Devil's advocate: The law of the land is to sit down to watch football. Also to not smoke in stadiums. When someone has a go at you for breaking these laws then don't start gobbing off that you're in the right and they're in the wrong. What's the problem?

Smoking in the bogs and you deserve to be chucked out stand up and u don't end of, it's football Were paying good money for, for god sake not happy clappy tiddlywinks! Is khaldoon etc "breaking the law" when they stand to cheer? No, one rule for one one rule for all

It's PERSISTANT standing which is against the law mate. As much as I disagree with it it's the law of the land and these people are trying to enforce it. If you're unhappy with it then blame the law makers not the enforcers.

G Star you don't know the Ins and outs but trust me this guy is one sly son of a woman, I've been on the end of it.

True i don't mate, which is why i can only go off what others say, it just tends to be that those who haven't been caught smoking, acting up etc have only good things to say about him.

Seems like there's a real case for him to answer to regarding employees that will come under his department today.

Watching football first and you can see all the stewards and dibble in the corner and hear the chanting loud, though they are doing there best to edit it out and the commentators havent mentioned it atall.
C-O-N-SPIRACY !

No it isn't. There is no law about standing at football matches. None whatsoever.

If that's so then I'm happy to be corrected.

How can 'persistent' be defined? If someone attends one game per season and stands for the whole time, is that persistent? Does it depend on the age of the offender? If a fan is 60 years of age, has attended every City game since the age of 16, and has stood for only two games in that whole period, is that persistent?

No it isn't. Read the rest of the thread. It's a law that seats have to be provided for all spectators at Premiership & Championship grounds. It was also a legal requirement that grounds are licensed by their local authorities. However the suggestions as to what was allowable are just that, suggestions. It's the local authority that sets licensing conditions so standing at matches is against ground regulations but it's not against the law.

Throwing things or running onto the pitch, racist or offensive chants, smoking are all things that are legally enforceable but standing isn't.
