Trouble in the North Stand second tier vs United

I’ve noticed a definite increase in touristy types round my block at pretty much all games this season.

Obviously for the big games there’s more. But I’ve seen loads of Chinese and Middle Eastern types at even the lowest key games.

I haven’t a problem with it to be honest.

I had one sat next to me at some cup game, as my next door neighbour isn’t on the cup schemes. He was going absolutely mental when we scored. Giving me hugs and everything. He even came back from the shop at half time with a nice slice of cake and offered me a bite. Who ever knew they served cake with the Bovril and Smax these days?
I’ve said previously when I come to the Etihad someday I hope I get to sit next to a long term fan to hear all the stories and have a true experience! My friends sat next to a long term West Ham fan when they saw a Hammers game in London and had such a good time, they all follow West Ham quite closely now.

Trouble at Rugby League is common and Cardiff is absolute carnage for Six Nations. People get slaughtered before, during and after. I’ve also seen significant disorder at boxing.

Football is so big now that it’s our club against everyone else both on the pitch and off it. Dippers coming in the home end causing provocation can fuck off.
I went to Rugby League matches all over the North. Fans stood next to each other without any issues. All just watch the match and there was a lot of banter but no trouble. I haven't been for a good few years but am shocked by your statement. It must be a new phenomenon. Rugby League always was family oriented. Shame if it's gone the way you say.

I watch Salford quite a lot and there’s nowhere near as many dickheads as there is at football. And you can drink in the stands.

Obviously the crowds are smaller but I’m talking percentages.

I’m not saying rugby or other sports are perfect all the time but there’s something about this yob culture that’s very unique to football.

Because it’s the accessible event that’s played all over the world? Rugby Union, let alone League, isn’t taken particularly seriously in many countries so the natural us and them mentality has never been there. You can’t compare much to the extreme popularity of football.

I’ve had the misfortune to deal with rugby fans and teams on nights out and they’re always absolute pigs. Alpha male macho wankers who refer to the beautiful game as “girlyball” etc. Try and convince me there’s no sexism in that term.

I’ve been going to football since the mid-90’s and am yet to have a serious problem. The bar in Seville that got attacked was because the Spanish media blamed us over Slask Wroclaw for the incident in town. We weren’t at fault. Nothing else comes to mind.

The scouser in SSL3 was much worse this season. I think he took a smack off each row whilst getting dragged down the stairs. You play silly games you win silly prizes.

Depends on the teams I assume, I don't know anyone who enjoyed visiting Castleford in the late 80s.
