trying to act sober

So has the op fallen asleep on his desk, soiled himself, or twatted the boss yet?
 
still awake... when I say I was drunk I was absolutely bladdered this morning. One of those spontaneous nights that one keeps looking at the clock and thinking yeah I can do 4 hours sleep, then 3 , then 2 then fuck it I can do without. staggered in this morning rather jovial and spritely, 9.30-11AM was a hard time I seem to remember, few pints at the pub at lunch has sorted me out but I am flagging again as we speak.

Got my next learner in 15 minutes so I will update later
 
Well at least you didn't show up tripping on acid like one guy did on my job a few years back

Once stopped drinking at 0630 when we realised the sun was peeking through the curtains. We were playing cards after a night out and totally lost track of time. Had to be in work for 0800. Luckily walking distance, and we were only doing shit jobs all day, so not a massive problem.

I've also been out on the p*ss until 5 am, and had to be in work for 0830. I made the massive mistake of going to sleep for a couple of hours and woke up with the worst hangover I've ever had.

Some bloke did this at a place I worked years ago. He turned up wearing paisley pattern pyjama trousers underneath his work trousers. Then he proceeded to rearrange the contents of his desk into a pretty floral pattern, and spent 40 minutes talking to a photocopying machine. He was great entertainment, until someone from management sent him home for being unwell.

Haha, this guy was swatting at imaginery butterflies on a step ladder and busting out dance moves 8 feet above the ground. Some friend had dosed a whole bottle of vodka and got a ton of people high as kites
 
I wasn't really drank, but once worked from 7 AM to 9 PM after getting absolutely wasted the night before and coming to work directly from the club. It was very quiet day on the job, but I wish it wasn't, I'd probably be better if I had something to work. It was a nightmare to stay awake. Had few shifts without sleep, but this one was after bottle of cognac the night before.

Seriously don't miss anything about booze after 18 years of not taking anything. Absolutely zero positives in alcohol-

As the booze wears off you will feel like shit, couple of beers after work used to do the trick for me, then off home early to bed. The joy when you finally get through the day, and can get to the boozer for a livener and some lard, how the body craves, before going home a sleepless night, bad dreams and the dreaded paranoia of the next day, when you go in sober.

Not true. I just got in from a hard days work in a dusty assed motherfucker of a basement and my throat was dry as a nuns **** until I fired back a delicious ice cold glass of Pilsner beer.

Positively positive.

Nah, each to his own, but I don't miss one second of booze.

I saw the discussion on BBC Breakfast this morning. I couldn't remember the BBC being so accommodating when Chris Evans failed to attend for his radio programme
