TV Games - April / May

But if both city and United progress we would both be home first and UEFA wont allow that on the same week. So United automatically moves their Home Game to 7th/8th if they qualify.

QF1 AJAX JUVE
QF2 LIVERPOOL PORTO
QF3 CITY SPURS
QF4 BARCA UNITED

Team 1 Agg. Team 2 1st leg 2nd leg
Winners of quarter-final 3 SF1 Winners of quarter-final 1 30 Apr – 1 May 7–8 May
Winners of quarter-final 4 SF2[A] Winners of quarter-final 2 30 Apr – 1 May 7–8 May
Notes

  1. ^ Should Manchester City and Manchester United qualify for the semi-finals, the order of legs will be reversed with Manchester United instead hosting the second leg.
I understand that, but its a separate issue which doesn't affect the Leicester game moving. The order which United play the home and away leg is irrelevant to this, whats important is which teams are playing on the Tuesday 7th May.

If we are playing on Tuesday 7th May, there is no change to Leicester.
If its not Liverpool or United (eg Juve/Ajax v City Spurs, or even Barca v Porto) then there is no change to the Leicester game.

If it is Liverpool and/or United, then they can't play on the Sunday in the league. If either of them are playing on the Tuesday it means we definitely aren't (either we're out of the Champions League or are playing the following night on Wednesday 8th May), so our game against Leicester could move to the Sunday.

Also worth noting that last year Munich Madrid we in the A side of the Draw and played Wednesday - Tuesday
With dippers playing Roma Tuesday - Wednesday.

This would even itself out over a season but potentially tighter schedule that week with 3 games in 7 days and liverpool 3 in 9...maybe...

Ok thanks,

So lets look at this logically, both city and liverpool qualify and united go out and following the A/B draws and TV schedules we know. Surely both liverpool and city will push to have their games City Tues and Liverpool Wed to keep their commited PL fixtures as is City Sat liverpool Sun...? As i read it we are fooked if United get through and they are very likely to take that Tuesday Slot @ Home..

Its not been determined who plays in which, but yes all clubs would probably prefer to play Tues/Weds rather than Weds/Tues. UEFA couldn't care less about PL fixtures, and know they can take precedent. Clubs will have input eg if there was a another big event on in the City which would be difficult to police as well as a semi final, but its mainly on the TV companies say so. Not just BT but all the (biggest paying) European broadcasters. Some European broadcasters share their coverage like it used to be with ITV and Sky, so one gets it on Tuesdays and the other gets it on Wednesdays. Depending on who pays more, they could request their preferred team to play their 2nd leg on a certain day (eg Barca). Can't imagine BT will care either way as no scenario affects their PL coverage, and they have both slots for Tuesday and Wednesday, unless there is something that may cause viewing figures to be noticeably lower on either day.

It really makes no difference whether United, Liverpool, or both go through. The impact on us is the same if one or both go through. If they both go out its a lot simpler.

One issue that might affect the decision is that Ajax have a cup final on Sunday 5th May, which is more difficult to switch than a league game. If they get past Juve and that can't be moved, then ourselves or Spurs would most likely be playing the second leg on the Wednesday. It would make things easier if Ajax get knocked out.

This is way too complicated for me so apologies but....
As things stand now, the Leicester game is 3pm Saturday 4th but likely to change dependent on sky/bt picks & champs league qf outcomes. Could be the Saturday either early or later or the Sunday?
Ffs. Luckily have hotel booked for Sat & Sun with refund if cancelled. I expect media pundits will be fully covered with pay & expenses whatever but will feel free to slag people off for the inconvenience they are generously compensated for anyway.

No, deffo not 3pm Sat - Sky have moved it to 12.30 Saturday, which is where it stays- for now ... ;-)

Im a bit melted. If it worked out city was at home Wednesday 1st CL and United Home Tuesday 7th. I dont think anything can change? Does it say anywhere the reasons but the possible change? Saturday 12.30KO is prob the ideal time when in the CL other than 3pm. Prob worth noting that if it does go to the Sunday it would very likely be 3pm?

@samarasra are you travelling from Dublin? Looks very expensive?
No, travelling from Cork, so limited flights, bought ticket over today for just under € 100.00 one way but holding off on return flight in case of date change, will probably have to stay over as no evening return flight on Saturday. Usually a Sunday has more options.

Just had an email from City about the Leicester game being moved to 12.30 on Saturday 4th with no mention that it's subject to further change. But it still is, isn't it?
