tv licence

People spend around £300 to £500 pound for a living room TV and anywhere from £20 pound to £100 for Channels and then they want you to pay to watch what you are already paying for! Yh ok

Is that not data protected ? You have to give your name and address when purchasing a tv too, I presume that's for the licencing people and again I would have thought it should have been data protected.
In the same way that your car insurance details and MOT and mobile phone etc isn't data protected. You are never data protected from the authorities. And SKY systems broadcast BBC and as such they will have a right to see who receives their service (and rightly so).

Sky subscribers list is not enough for them to get a warrant that allows them into your house, you do not have to let them in. Looking through the window is illegal and an act against your privacy. You do not have to let them in your house by law.
Neither of those points are true.

They have to be in your house to check but you do not have to let them in your house by law. I have seen this happen in real life. Just passing on what I have seen.
Yes, but they can get a warrant if they believe there is enough evidence (3000 prosecutions per week remember). They don't need to be in your house to suspect you have a TV as they can see through your window or go through Sky's customer list (as a provider of THEIR service).

As I say, anyone not paying but watching, I hope gets nicked. It's tax evasion which normally gets the cellar all up tight.

If you watch TV without a licence your a thief a cheat and a parasite riding on the backs of honest people, It's as simple as that. I for one hope evaders are hauled before the courts, criminalised and fined the maximum amount. If I had my way I would bring back the old debtors wings in strangeways and throw them all in there.

3,000 per week get a huge fine and a criminal record, which pleases me.

If I were a mean spirited, selfish, greedy and vindictive person it'd really please me if people were forced by the criminal law system to help me pay for non-essential things I like to buy, like a City season ticket, beer, curry etc, and that they were severely punished if they failed to come up with the cash.

But I'm not.

I don't mind, via the tax system, helping others to buy necessities like housing and food if they really can't afford them, but I've yet to hear a convincing argument as to why I should have to help dismal brain dead telly addicts to fund their regular rations of Eastenders, Casualty and celebrity ballroom dancing.

Yes that's it, you're not the scummy thief, I'm the mean spirited, selfish (lol at the irony), vindictive one.

Awesome.

The BBC is like benefits. I enjoy having it while others go out to work to pay for it. The TV Licensing system and the justice system are too lame to do anyone. LMFAO at bringing back the 'debtors wing' in prison - every cell would have its own tv funded by the taxpayer you daft twat.
