tv licence

The decriminalisation of not having a TV licence looks like it may be pushed through but I can't see the difference between the new system and the system now in place.

You would still receive a fine that if unpaid would result in you going to prison.

Who chases you for the vile crime of not paying for Eastenders and Car Booty?

The police? No.

HMRC? No.

Just some BBC funded capita staff who have virtually no powers at all.

It has to be the easiest crime in the country to get away with.

Everyone should obey the law at all times.

I work for Capita and have a TV license.

I'm special.

Capita work for my company and are generally completely useless at what they do.

They're 'special'

According to this

There are 180,000 prosecutions a year for licence dodging!

I'm confident that the company I work for is fairly good at what it does (Capita bought three companies and merged us, we now work under one name).

Although I'm not argueing with what you say, I don't have many dealings with any other Capita owned companies.

If they come to your door get your phone out and film them, they run smile.
Oh, and if they turn up with police remember the police are on your side too, they are just there to "keep the peace", you don't need to let anybody in your house

If they have the police with them they'll have a warrant and can force entry.

Nope. Ive had them at my house before, the police are there to keep the peace. They dont tell you this though...so you just assume they have a warrant.
