TV Series

Just started on the Man In the High Castle. Only a few in and can't say I've really got into it yet, but will see the first season through and see how it progresses. Interesting to hear how people have rated it if they've seen them all?

Anyone seen Severance? Reviews are so good, but I’m 2 episodes into S1 and it’s all a bit meh, slow etc. has echoes of Homecoming the Julia Roberts vehicle, which also underwhelmed me.

Is it worth sticking with?

I'd vouch for it. Was the best thing on the box in 2022 imo.

Watch season 1 then watch it again! I've watched season 1 three times you pick on more stuff going on every time ! I'll be watching season 1 for a fourth time before I start season 2!

It's brilliant...

Its reasonably entertaining even though its rather dark, a few twists here and there. I liked it, but the end, whilst in line with the book which I did read afterwards, is a bit meh.

Keep with it, it’s very subtle to begin with, but it’s definitely worth sticking with, it’s a slow burn, but once you find out WTF is really going on, it’s quite a bit more mindfucking than you might think

Just realised I put High Tower, rather than Castle in my post!

Cheers for the information mate. That sounds fair, will continue with the first season and see how that goes before deciding if I'm going to stick through the whole series.

I watched the whole thing during lockdown & thought it was pretty good.
Interesting premise, well acted & great production values. I found the first few episodes a little slow, but I thought it got better & It’s worth sticking with.

Just finished the first season of "On Call" - a US cop drama based in Long Beach, CA. It was very good and well worth the watch. 7.5/10.

I also recently finished Silo, Season 2. A fantastic watch. 9.5/10.

The only reservation I have about Silo is (slight spoiler ahead, don't click if you want to keep suspense):
that it leaves the viewer hanging. Wondering what happened to the main characters. In this respect it's like Lord of the Rings, closely following Frodo and Sam, only to pivot to another plot line, leaving the reader wondering what happened.

Like lost tv show baited you the whole show till the final season!

Just hope they have an ending in mind and finish it after 4/5 seasons

It's following the "Wool" series of books and the author of "Wool" - Hugh Howey - is an executive producer of Silo. And, unlike the Game of Thrones TV series, the "Wool" books are complete. So long as actors/producers remain the same for seasons 3 and 4, I think that the series will continue in the same excellent vein.
