TV Series

...but the new Lord of the Rings series (on Prime) sounds very promising.
Watched the trilogy again with my daughter over the past week...ground breaking at the time.
Won't be aired till 2021 (and something else on hold to due to COVID19.

The Plot Against America

I liked it. It’s an alternative WW2 story - Roosevelt doesn’t get in and Lindbergh does

The great lost show, along with the MCFC-centric Burn It, is The Black Donnellys. Somewhere between the Sopranos and Shameless. Only one series of 13 episodes so not a lifetime commitment of diminishing returns like most US crap.
Hap and Leonard on Amazon is also fantastic, based on the deadbeat crime novels by Joe R Lansdale. A scruffy shitkicker loser and a gay black dude stumbling about trying to solve crimes even though they are borderline idiots. Great stuff

The Black Donnelly's was excellent, really enjoyed that, think it still had plenty of mileage left in it, and, and, it had Olivia Wilde, never a bad thing.

Currently enjoying "most wanted" on Netflix.

Best of a bad batch I'd say in terms of newly released series on Netflix.
I just finished a newish one on netflix called 'Reckoning'. It was watchable and had its moments, but never really got going. As you say, Netflix is understandably on a real drought at the moment of good new series.

I will have a look.

"Fear City" is very good. It covers the NY Mafia during the 70s and 80s interviewing ex cops and ex mafia members. Really well put together.
