TV Series

watched all 4 yesterday - brilliant tv but a tough watch, especially if you've got teenage kids. Episodes 1 and 3 are outstanding, episode 2 not so good. The young kid - what an actor!!
I was just amazed they did it all in one take, can you imagine if someone fucked up after 55 minutes :0

I'm 4 episodes in on 1883 and I must say that I'm very much enjoying it, it's absolutely made for Sam Elliott, includes the beautiful Isabel May and Faith Hill too!
Starting it next week.
Does Faith Hill burst into song at any stage?

Reacher is just dreadful, ridiculous storylines & wooden acting from the main character.

Lol it’s been like that since day one.

If you’re looking for clever twists and realism then you’re barking up the wrong tree.

Just sit back and enjoy it for what it is. Bit of mild escapism, well paced and with a big fella going round doing what big fellas can do

It’s total rubbish but I’m really enjoying it

Just finished Adolescence. The general rule of anything with Stephen Graham being worthy still applies. Deeply thought provoking, especially having just had a son one month ago.
Thanks I'll check it out, I like him although I thought Scouse accents went down like a lead balloon on here :)

Just watched him in Boiling point TV series.

Just watched the first episode, all I can say is wow. The acting in this is just incredible, especially the child actor. Absolutely gripping. Didn't feel like binging it all at once because I felt like I needed to decompress after the first episode. The way its filmed all in one take is brilliant. Incredible television, like everything with Steven Graham in.

A thousand blows is also very good with him on Disney+ but I enjoyed the female leads performance more in that. Had a bit of a crush on her lol.

Season 3 of Reacher goes in my "It's ok" bucket like the book did. It's an easy watch if you're not expecting realism but the bad guys and the dea agents are pretty annoying. A lot will hinge on how they do the thing in the book - could be good or could be meh

Just started watching adolescence on NetFlix. First episode was fantastic, second is quite bizarre and doesn't really develop the story other than making stupid school jokes.

IMO one the most thought provoking, intense, brilliantly acted, written and filmed series or film I have seen in a very long time. A murder investigation where each episode from the outset is filmed in one take is just incredible and riveting. The subject matter is more the topical and needs all parents to supervise and look at their child’s mobiles and computers, their online searches and influences. From Stephen Graham who is again imo of the best actors of his generation, just incredible and everyone of the other actors including the angelic looking Owen Cooper the young child whose accused is again brilliant. I am not going to add any spoilers, but what I will add is, we/you need to keep our kids safe not just walking the streets but online. Watch it…better still watch it with your kids or nephews and nieces. Then have that conversation.
