TV Series

Watched first couple of episodes of second series of Beef, really enjoyed the first series as it was mad as fuck, it’s one of those where it’s a completely different cast and story. Absolute wank.

After that trailer released overnight for Disclosure Day, I’m rewatching Taken (2002) from Spielberg. I don’t remember a second of it from the first time round. My early 30s were, for want of a better word, hazy.

The boroughs. First few episodes were slow, assumed it would be a slow burner with the first season being a world builder as they probably have a multiple season contract given their previous success with stranger things.

Surprised that it did pick up second half and you got a proper end whilst still leaving loads of room for more seasons. Got a little bit over the top and eye rolly for my tastes. I gave up on stranger things before the last season came out but I got through this fairly quickly and would probably watch a second season if/when it comes.

I watched that a few years back, like you beer has eaten away at those memories, was a great series.

Just finished The Boys.

Quite a disappointing ending to be honest, quite underwhelming, but to be fair the whole of the last season was a bit of a letdown.
The new spinoff show has potential though

I’ve decided to stick PONIES on this evening, I’m on Ep2 at the moment. Quite lighthearted espionage comedy thriller.

Haley Lu Richardson’s character is good, quite funny. I like her hair and she’s quite sexy without being a stunner… not that that matters haha

Emilia Clarke’s eyebrows could have a storyline of their own n’all!

Got to recommend half-man, Richard Gadd’s (baby reindeer) latest show.

Hard to watch at times, incredibly raw. It’s tongue in cheek but reminds me of a Shakespearean tragedy, and the two main characters are so complex. Unreal writing, I think it’ll sweep up, but for the masses - it’s a tough watch.

The only part I remember is Dakota Fanning's performance and that she had quite a big role for a then 8 year old.

'Spider-Noir'

As a comic book adaptation it's almost brilliant. My only negative is the changing of the origin story as I thought the comic was way more interesting and two of the villains a bit meh.

Although, one particular delight, was seeing Nic Cage dip into his old personality bag for classic yesteryear Cage in the latter half of the show. It was f'kin great to see 'that guy' and he seemed to revel in it, too! I just don't think anyone else could have played this character!

Overall, I enjoyed it as the level of violence was a surprise.

Gary Titchfield likes this.
