TV Series

Finished the first season of Girls last night. Cracking show. Never really come across characters like this on TV before - basically the hipster class from New York in the late 2000s, early 2010s, but all very dysfunctional and damaged in ways that it seems they can't fix. Looks like a show that will follow their downward spirals.

Also watching through Malcolm in the Middle, which is great. Nice to see a comedy about a lower middle class (or working class) family that constantly stays grounded instead of finding new and elaborate ways for them to afford to do things that the plot demands of them. Bryan Cranston is an unbelievably funny comic actor.

And I'm coming to the end of Sex Education, which started off brilliantly and boldly but has slowly got worse and less sure of itself with each season. It's still watchable and it's fun enough to watch the characters interact but I think it's bitten off more than it could chew and lost the run of what it was trying to say. Still, mostly good TV.

That just goes to show what a convincing actor Tiny Tom is.
I liked his version of Reacher, he had the attitude part right and the humour.

They took a bit of licence with the scripts but they were decent films, I am a saddo that has all the Reacher books, new one is due out very soon.

The series was very good imo and I'm sick of waiting for series 2 it's been made for ages, I believe they wanted to release this and lotr's at the same time, which seems a bit odd tbh

and 260-300lbs lol

The term brick shit house springs to mind :)

Apparently the actor has put on more weight for S2.

He looks comically large most of the time, I’m 6’4 (not in the same shape unfortunately) and I don’t tower over every single person I meet. I’m guessing part of it is due to camera angles/directing choices, and I’m pretty sure I remember reading actors are shorter on average than the general population so he’d stick out more.

Casting choices probably play an effect too.

Tbh I hope they make it less of a focus this time. Obviously they were addressing fan complaints about Cruise being a midget, but I don’t need every single character he meets to say “fuck me you’re big” or something. It felt a bit clunky and takes you out of the story a bit.

Might rewatch before season 2.

They put all the supporting actors in the Green Mile in a trench they dug to make that fella even bigger. Cinema tricks
