Just watched a western you might enjoy, I know you like the genre. It's called Jane got a gun, and stars Natalie Portman. The imdb rating is pretty poor, but I enjoyed it.

Watched the HBO premier The Night Of in one sitting yesterday, based on the BBC version Criminal Justice. Well worth a go.

Great series with some great performances, I had a few minor gripes with the ending but still well worth a watch.
 
I took a look at that show Twin Peaks from the 90's since it's coming back in a couple months. I watched the first season and it's incredibly overrated. I'm going to fight through the second season but I don't think I'll make it.

I bought seasons 1 and 2 of the original on bluray, wanting to see what the fuss was about, I watched S1 with a puzzled look on my face, then gave up about 3 eps into S2.
Not sure the reboot is going to be much better.

Oh it definitely won't. It's some weird niche show that you or I don't really appreciate. I'd finish it off just encase the new season gets rave reviews but it's 22 episodes for season two. :(

That's really because what's classed as season 2 was really two short seasons. The first part is not as good as the first season, but it picks up towards the end. It's deliberately odd.

By the way, you're wrong about it being overrated!
(I suspect much of that is that it's 25 years old and a very different style to anything now, and pretty much everything of its time as well)

Fair enough. I get the appeal, even the bizarre nature. It's very slow though, yeah?
