After half an hour of it, I'm finding Baz Lurhman's fantasy world is not working with Hip Hop/ ghetto life.
It's almost like a cross between 'Fame' and his 'Romeo and Juliet' rendition (direction and presentation-wise) and it's fairly distracting to have these thoughts floating around when you're trying to absorb the programme.
I want it to be gritty and so far it's not.
However the lyrics/ poetry outshine the show, so far.
I will give it a touch longer...
